Candle Flame Bending Lesson

In this lesson we will examine how to bend the flame of a candle with your mind. This is something most everyone has seen in the form of a scary movie, but there have been those who found out through various means that their mind was capable of candle flame bending.
It is important to note, you must make sure there is not air moving around your work area. If your candle is constantly flickering, too much air is moving and you should look for a different place to work.
- A candle. Type is not important.
- A candle holder suited to the type of candle you are using. Just make sure the flame sits well above the rim of the candle holder you choose.
- A quiet room without excess air circulating through it. No fans, windows closed etc.
Before beginning, take a moment to relax your mind and body. Several deep breaths can help clear tension and you should take them now because a heavy exhale could cause a false positive while attempting to complete the candle flame bending exercise.
Set your candle in front of you on the table. If possible, try to have the flame of the candle at a height slightly higher than your eye level will be when you are working. This helps to prevent your breath from causing movement. Make sure you have a comfortable chair to sit in that will allow you to be a minimum of two feet from the table your candle is sitting on.
Your goal with candle flame bending is to make a bend approximately half the length of the flame. It should look something similar to the photo in this article. Don’t worry if it is not exactly half. Also don’t worry if it does not bend to a 90-degree angle. When in a room with no air currents, the flame will be straight. As long as you are 100% sure there are no stray air currents, any amount of bending should be considered a success because air movement will either cause flickering or the flame will bend near the base of the flame. If the candle is flickering, you either have an air current for there is some type of impurity in the wax or wick. You may have to get a different candle.
Each session, choose which side you want to bend the flame towards. All attempts within that session should aimed for the same side. While not mandatory, it is probably best to always try for the same side with each session. Once you can accomplish your goal on a regular basis, then you can try switching back and forth.
The candle flame bending exercise works just like all the others. You use the power of your mind and see that energy interact with the flame of the candle on a cellular level. When the two energies have meshed, let the energy of your mind bend the flame.
Be honest with yourself. If the candle only flickered and you know there was a draft moving through the room, do not count it. To do so is only hurting your own advancement. You want a good solid bend in the flame, even if it is only for a moment. Once you get that first bend, then you can work on keeping it bent for a longer period of time.
